TAKING CARE OF YOUR BREASTS IS TAKING CARE OF YOUR LIFE. HOW TO PREVENT BREAST CANCER?

October is the month dedicated to raising awareness about the fight against breast cancer worldwide. It is a good time to remember how important it is to take care of our health, and early detection is key to increasing chances of successful treatment.

What can you do to take care of yourself?

  • Start exploring yourself from the age of 18. Know your body and pay attention to any changes in your breasts.
  • Visit your doctor for an annual check-up from the age of 25
  • From the age of 40, have a mammogram every year. It is the best way to detect any possible problem.
  • If you are under 35 years old, a breast ultrasound is recommended instead of mammography.

Factors that increase breast cancer risk:

  1. Having had your first period very young or entering menopause later
  2. Have not had children or have not breastfed
  3. Prolonged use (more than 5 years) of hormone replacement therapy with estrogens and progestogens
  4. Consume alcohol excessively
  5. Other factors may also influence

Remember: Regular self-examination can save lives! Get to know yourself, take care of yourself, and make prevention a part of your health routine.
