THE PINK PATH: A STORY OF HOPE AND SOLIDARITY
Thirteen years ago, in the heart of Mexicali, a seed of hope was born. It all began when the Águilas de Mexicali team, committed to its community, decided to undertake social work that transcended beyond sports. This is how Mrs. Ma. de Jesús Villalobos de Murillo made the decision to lead a project that would change lives: the Mujeres que Viven Foundation, A.C. Its purpose was clear and powerful: to accompany Cachanilla women in the difficult process of breast cancer, offering support comprehensive and raising awareness about this disease.
It was thanks to her vision and determination that the idea became a reality. Her leadership and empathy not only mobilized those who shared her passion, but also inspired the creation of a unique volunteer service. Thus, the Rositas emerged, a group of women who They represent the essence of the color pink: sensitivity, delicacy and unconditional dedication to the service of patients. Each one of them reflects the spirit with which Mrs. Villalobos de Murillo gave life to this cause.
Since then, every day at Mujeres que Viven has been another step towards its mission of transforming lives. Thirteen years later, the impact is tangible and moving: more than 16,000 women have felt the warmth and support of this community. This achievement has been possible thanks to generous hearts: people, companies, institutions and authorities that have believed in this dream and have made it grow.
Today, the Mujeres que Viven Foundation is deeply grateful to those who have been part of this story, including the Águilas de Mexicali, whose initial support was a key piece in sowing this seed of solidarity. Although the road has been long, the commitment remains intact: continue accompanying breast cancer patients and reminding them that the goal is none other than to live.
“As long as there are generous hearts, there will be hope,” is the mantra that guides these extraordinary women. And as long as there is hope, the pink path will continue to illuminate lives and give smiles.
The story of Women Who Live is not only a tribute to love and solidarity, but a reminder that together, we can build a better world.
