SOLES DE MEXICALI:PREVENTION AND JOINT MOBILITY AS THE FOUNDATION OF PERFORMANCE IN THE LNBP
In the current season of the National Professional Basketball League (LNBP), Soles de Mexicali has taken a major step toward professionalizing its team by strengthening the physiotherapy department with a functional space specifically adapted for basketball. Joint mobility has become a cornerstone in the team’s strategy for injury prevention and performance optimization.
Personalized Assessment and Follow-up
The prevention program begins with a diagnostic stage that includes preseason tests and follow-up questionnaires administered before the players arrive. These tools help identify medical history, previous injuries, and the specific needs of each athlete, allowing for the design of personalized and more effective intervention plans.
A Truly Multidisciplinary Effort
The project goes beyond traditional physiotherapy, developing in close collaboration with the physical conditioning department. Both areas operate as a single unit, integrating strengthening exercises, stretching routines, mobility work, and on-court preventive training.
This comprehensive approach not only reduces the risk of injuries but also enhances the players’ athletic capabilities. The athletes’ commitment also plays a key role—they bring energy, discipline, and consistency to every session. Likewise, team management provides crucial support through organization, resources, and continuity, ensuring a high-level professional environment.
Beyond Prevention
At Soles, prevention is not only about minimizing physical risks—it’s about creating a work ecosystem in which every participant—players, coaching staff, and management—takes an active role in collective success. This model has a lasting impact not only on the court but also in the athletes’ personal lives, giving them better tools to maintain long-term health.
Immediate and Long-term Benefits
The results of this approach are already evident:
- Lower incidence of musculoskeletal injuries, thanks to mobility routines and corrective exercises.
- Improved physical performance, by optimizing range of motion and recovery capacity.
- Extended athletic longevity, prolonging players’ careers in the league.
- Better training and competition quality, with fuller, healthier rosters in top physical condition.
A Commitment to Excellence
With this project, Soles de Mexicali reaffirms its commitment to innovation and the comprehensive well-being of its players. Prevention, joint mobility, and physiotherapy are no longer secondary support areas—they are now central pillars of a sports model that aims not only to compete but to excel and leave a lasting mark in the LNBP.
